2. Automatic data processing on this website

When you call up our Internet pages, information that your browser transmits to us is automatically stored in our so-called "server log files". These are:

- IP address of the accessing computer,
- time of the server request,
- browser type/version,*
- operating system used,*
- Referrer URL (the previously visited page).*

*We only store this data if your browser transmits it to us.

The server log files may be used for security purposes, e.g. to prevent server overload, and to ensure server utilization and stability. The temporary storage of the IP address by the system is furthermore necessary to enable delivery of the website to your computer at all. The legal basis for the temporary storage of this data is § 25 para. 2 no. 2 TTDSG. The data will be deleted as soon as they are no longer required to achieve the purpose for which they were collected.

3. Contacting

When contacting us (e.g. by contact form, e-mail, telephone or via social media), we process your data to process the contact request and its handling. Insofar as you have given us consent for this, the legal basis for the processing of this data is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO. Otherwise, the legal basis for the processing of this data is Art. 6 (1) lit. f DSGVO, in particular in the event that the data is transmitted to us by you by sending an e-mail. Insofar as you wish to work towards the conclusion of a contract by contacting us, Art. 6 (1) lit. b DSGVO represents an additional legal basis.

If we provide a contact on our website, the data you enter in the input mask will be transmitted to us and stored, e.g. name and e-mail address. The data is used exclusively to respond to your inquiries. This is also our legitimate interest in processing your personal data. Unless explicitly stated in the contact form, the data will not be passed on to third parties. In addition, we record your IP address and the time of sending.

Your information may also be temporarily stored in a customer relationship management system ("CRM system") or comparable inquiry organization.

Subject to legal retention periods, the data will be deleted as soon as we have finally processed your request.

4. Services subject to registration

4.1 General

If you wish to use the (personalized or chargeable) offers and services provided on the website, we may require further information from you in order to provide these services and for billing purposes.

This includes, in particular, your name, your (valid) e-mail address and, if applicable, other information (address, telephone number, etc.) that allows us to verify, for example, that you are the owner of the e-mail address provided or that the owner of the e-mail address agrees to receive the relevant services in order to be able to provide the services requested by you accordingly. The entry of a valid e-mail address is necessary so that we can prevent abusive registrations - for example, for newsletters. Accordingly, we use the so-called "double opt-in procedure", in which you receive an e-mail to confirm your registration after entering your e-mail address on our websites and must verify your e-mail address by clicking on a corresponding link. Furthermore, you may provide us with additional data - beyond that required for the provision of the services (e.g. industry, professional group or similar) - on a voluntary basis - for example in corresponding form fields - as part of the registration/login process.

The legal basis for the processing of the data is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO if you have given your consent. If the registration serves the fulfillment of a contract or the implementation of pre-contractual measures, the legal basis for the processing of the data is Art. 6 (1) lit. b DSGVO.

In addition, the data processing is based on our legitimate economic interest pursuant to Art. 6 para.1 lit. f DSGVO for the purpose of ensuring a smooth and easy processing of your order, the efficient handling of any queries, for the needs-based design of our offers, for product information and for customer care.

The data will be deleted as soon as they are no longer required to achieve the purpose of their processing. Even after the end of the contract, there may be a contractual or legal requirement to store personal data of the contractual partner. In this case, there is no claim to deletion, but possibly to restriction of data processing.

You can cancel the receipt of our newsletter at any time, i.e. revoke your consent or object to further receipt. You will find a link to cancel the newsletter either at the end of each newsletter or you can otherwise use one of the contact options provided above for this purpose.

4.2 Whitepapers

We make whitepapers available for download on this website. When you download a whitepaper, we collect certain data to enable you to receive the whitepaper.

Please refer to the registration form for the specific types of data to be provided, as well as the scope of the declaration of consent that you provide when downloading the corresponding whitepaper.

In this context, we also process your data for advertising purposes. The legal basis for the processing of the data is Art. 6 (1) lit. a DSGVO if you have given your consent. We may also transfer your data to advertising partners for use for promotional purposes. Please refer to the scope of the declaration of consent that you provide when you receive the whitepaper to find out whether and to whom such a transfer takes place.

The data will be deleted by us as soon as it is no longer required to achieve the purpose of its processing, but at the latest after revocation of your consent, unless there is a legitimate interest in its continued storage.

4.3 Webinars

You have the option on our website to register for webinars. When you register for a webinar, we collect certain data to enable you to participate in the webinar.

6. Data protection at events

6.1 Photo/Film

We would like to point out that photographs and video recordings may be made during events. These recordings may be published afterwards in various media (print as well as online media and social media channels).

The legal basis for the recording of photo and video material is Art. 6 (1) lit. f DSGVO. The photo and video recordings are made for the purposes of reporting, marketing, public relations and informative presentation of our commercial services. In these purposes also lies our legitimate interest in the data processing. The publication of individual recordings is intended to take place indefinitely, which is why selected photos and videos are kept for an indefinite period of time for specific purposes. Other photos and videos will be deleted as soon as they are no longer necessary to achieve the purpose of their processing.

If you do not wish to be photographed, please signal this clearly to the photographer. You can object to this data processing at any time, e.g. by sending an e-mail to the above-mentioned contact options.

6.2 Lists of participants

We would like to point out that we compile participant data such as name, function and company on participant lists. These participant lists may be used for the purpose of exchanging information among participants as follows: Issuance or display at individual events or also retrievable as a download in password-protected user areas on the homepage and in password-protected user areas in event apps. The legal basis for the issue or display of participant lists is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. Our legitimate interest in data processing also lies in the aforementioned purposes.

You can object to this data processing at any time, e.g. by sending an email to the contact options mentioned above.

7. Analysis services

7.1 Cookies

Our website uses cookies. Cookies are text files that are stored in the Internet browser or by the Internet browser on the computer system. If you call up a website, a cookie may be stored on your operating system. This cookie contains a characteristic string of characters that enables the browser to uniquely identify you when you return to the website.

We use cookies to make our website more user-friendly. These cookies help make a website usable by enabling basic functions such as page navigation and access to secure areas of the website.

The legal basis for the use of technically necessary cookies is Section 25 (2) No. 2 TTDSG. The purpose of their use in these cases is to simplify the use of websites for you. Some functions of our website cannot be offered without the use of cookies. For these, it is necessary that the browser is recognized even after a page change.

By changing the settings in your internet browser, you can deactivate or restrict the transfer of cookies. Cookies that have already been stored can be deleted at any time. This can also be done automatically. If cookies are deactivated for our website, it may no longer be possible to use all functions of the website in full.

7.2 Legal basis and purpose of storage for the following services

We also use services on our website that enable an analysis of your surfing behavior. The legal basis for the processing of personal data by the services listed below is, if you have given us your consent, Section 25 (1) sentence 1 TTDSG. For some data processing, on the other hand, Section 25 (2) No. 2 TTDSG forms the legal basis. This serves the purpose of improving the quality of our website and its content. Through this, we learn how the website is used and can thus continuously optimize our offer. Please refer to the cookie settings on the website for the specific legal basis for the respective data processing. The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required to achieve the purpose for which it was collected.

You can change your privacy settings or revoke your consent at any time by clicking on the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of the website.

7.3 Google Maps

Our website uses Google Maps to display interactive maps. Google Maps is a map service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. By using Google Maps, information about the use of this website, including your IP address, may be transmitted to Google in the USA. When you call up a web page on our website that contains Google Maps, your browser establishes a direct connection with Google's servers. The map content is transmitted by Google directly to your browser, which then integrates it into the website.

Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Opt-Out: If you do not agree with this processing of your data, you have the option of deactivating the Google Maps service and thus preventing the transfer of data to Google. To do this, you must deactivate the Java Script function in your browser. However, we would like to point out that in this case you will not be able to use Google Maps and possibly also other components, or only to a limited extent.

7.4 Google Fonts

We use "Google Fonts" on our website, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow St, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google Fonts enables us to use external fonts. For this purpose, the required Google Font is loaded into the browser cache by your web browser when you call up our website. This is necessary so that your browser can display a visually improved representation of our texts. If your browser does not support this function, a standard font is used by your computer for display. The integration of these fonts is done by a server call, usually at a Google server in the USA. This transmits to the server which of our websites you have visited. The IP address of the browser of your end device is also stored by Google.

Further information on data protection can be found in Google's privacy policy:https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de&gl=de

Opt-Out: You can set your browser so that the fonts are not loaded from Google servers (for example, by installing add-ons such as NoScript or Ghostery für Firefox). If your browser does not support Google Fonts or you disable access to Google servers, the text will be displayed in the system's default font.

Further information on Google Web Fonts can be found at https://fonts.google.com/, https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq?hl=de-DE&csw=1

7.5 Use of the INFOnline GmbH measurement procedure

Our website uses the measurement procedure ("SZMnG") of INFOnline GmbH (https://www.INFOnline.de) to determine statistical parameters about the use of our offerings. The aim of the usage measurement is to statistically determine the number of visits to our website, the number of website visitors and their surfing behavior - based on a uniform standard procedure - and thus to obtain values that are comparable across the market.

For all digital offerings that are members of the Informationsgemeinschaft zur Feststellung der Verbreitung von Werbeträgern e.V. (IVW - http://www.ivw.eu) or participate in the studies of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Online-Forschung e.V. (AGOF - http://www.agof.de), the usage statistics are regularly processed further by the AGOF and the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Media-Analyse e.V. (agma - http://www.agma-mmc.de) into reach figures and published with the performance value "Unique User" and by the IVW with the performance values "Page Impression" and "Visits". These reach figures and statistics can be viewed on the respective websites.

7.5.1 Legal basis for processing

Measurement by means of the SZMnG measurement method by INFOnline GmbH is carried out with a legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. f) DSGVO.

The purpose of the processing of personal data is the creation of statistics and the formation of user categories. The statistics are used to be able to track and document the use of our offer. The user categories form the basis for an interest-based targeting of advertising media or advertising measures. Usage measurement, which ensures comparability with other market participants, is essential for marketing this website. Our legitimate interest results from the economic usability of the findings resulting from the statistics and user categories and the market value of our website - also in direct comparison with third-party websites - which can be determined on the basis of the statistics.

In addition, we have a legitimate interest in making the pseudonymized data available to INFOnline, AGOF and IVW for the purpose of market research (AGOF, agma) and for statistical purposes (INFOnline, IVW). Furthermore, we have a legitimate interest in making the pseudonymized data available to INFOnline for the further development and provision of interest-based advertising media.

7.5.2 Type of Data

INFOnline GmbH collects the following data, which has a personal reference according to the EU-DSGVO:

• IP address: On the Internet, every device requires a unique address, the so-called IP address, in order to transmit data. The storage of the IP address, at least for a short time, is technically necessary due to the way the Internet works. The IP addresses are shortened by 1 byte before any processing and are only processed anonymously. No storage or further processing of the untruncated IP addresses takes place.

• A randomly generated client identifier: Range processing alternatively uses either a third-party cookie, a first-party cookie, a "local storage object" or a signature created from various automatically transmitted information from your browser to recognize computer systems. This identifier is unique to a browser as long as the cookie or Local Storage Object is not deleted. Measurement of the data and subsequent assignment to the respective client identifier is therefore also possible if you call up other websites that also use the measurement procedure ("SZMnG") of INFOnline GmbH.

The validity of the cookie is limited to a maximum of 1 year.

7.5.3 Use of the Data

The measurement procedure of INFOnline GmbH used on this website determines usage data. This is done in order to collect the performance values page impressions, visits and clients and to form further key figures from them (e.g. qualified clients). In addition, the measured data is used as follows:

• A so-called geolocation, i.e. the assignment of a website call to the location of the call, is carried out exclusively on the basis of the anonymized IP address and only up to the geographical level of the federal states / regions. Under no circumstances can conclusions be drawn about the specific location of a user from the geographical information obtained in this way.

• The usage data of a technical client (e.g., a browser on a device) is aggregated across websites and stored in a database. This information is used for the technical estimation of the socio-information age and gender and transferred to AGOF's service providers for further coverage processing. Within the scope of the AGOF study, socio characteristics are technically estimated on the basis of a random sample, which can be assigned to the following categories: Age, gender, nationality, occupation, marital status, general household information, household income, place of residence, Internet usage, online interests, place of use, user type.

7.5.4 Storage period of the data

The full IP address is not stored by INFOnline GmbH. The shortened IP address is stored for a maximum of 60 days. The usage data in connection with the unique identifier will be stored for a maximum of 6 months.

7.5.5 Disclosure of data

The IP address as well as the shortened IP address will not be passed on. For the preparation of the AGOF study, data with client identifiers are passed on to the following AGOF service providers:

• Kantar Deutschland GmbH (https://www.tns-infratest.com/)

• Ankordata GmbH & Co. KG (http://www.ankordata.de/homepage/)

• Interrogare GmbH (https://www.interrogare.de/)

7.5.6 Right of objection

If you do not wish to participate in the measurement, you can object under the following link: https://optout.ioam.de

To guarantee exclusion from the measurement, it is technically necessary to set a cookie. If you delete the cookies in your browser, it is necessary to repeat the opt-out process under the above link.

Further information on data protection in the measurement process can be found on the website of INFOnline GmbH (https://www.infonline.de), which operates the measurement process, the data protection website of AGOF (http://www.agof.de/datenschutz) and the data protection website of IVW (http://www.ivw.eu).

7.10 VG Wort

We use "session cookies" of VG Wort, Untere Weidenstraße 5, 81543 Munich, to measure accesses to texts in order to record the copy probability. Session cookies are small units of information that a provider stores in the RAM of the visitor's computer. A randomly generated unique identification number, a so-called session ID, is stored in a session cookie. In addition, a cookie contains information about its origin and the storage period. Session cookies cannot store any other data. These measurements are carried out by Kantar GmbH, Landsberger Straße 284, 80687 Munich, Germany, using the "Scalable Central Measurement Method" (SZM). They help to determine the copy probability of individual texts for the remuneration of legal claims of authors and publishers. Many of our pages are equipped with JavaScript calls through which we report the accesses to the Verwertungsgesellschaft Wort (VG Wort). In this way, we enable our authors to participate in the distributions of the VG Wort, which ensure the statutory remuneration for the uses of copyrighted works in accordance with § 53 UrhG. In this context, our website and our mobile website use the "Scalable Central Measurement Method" (SZM) of Kantar GmbH to determine statistical parameters for determining the copy probability of texts. Anonymous measurement values are collected in the process. The access count measurement alternatively uses a session cookie or a signature, which is created from various automatically transmitted information of your browser, for the recognition of computer systems. IP addresses are automatically shortened by the last three digits immediately at the time of collection and are one-way encrypted using state-of-the-art encryption. The procedure was developed in strict compliance with data protection. The sole aim of the procedure is to determine the copy probability of individual texts. You will not receive any advertising via the system.

The legal basis for the processing of personal data by the services described above is Section 25 (2) No. 2 TTDSG. The exclusive purpose is the recording of royalty-relevant uses of our web pages for the purpose of distribution to the authors of works on the pages used by VG Wort.

This tells the YouTube server which of our pages you have visited. According to YouTube's information, in "extended data protection mode" your data - in particular device-specific information including the IP address - is only transmitted to the YouTube server in the USA if you actively click on the video.

If you are logged in to YouTube at the same time, this information will be assigned to your member account with YouTube. You can prevent this by logging out of your member account before visiting our website.
